Money and Music

The YouTube essayist has made us more privy to money and how it moves in and out of the hands of people we may not trust with so much. Means talk.

Are we obsessed with *ownership? And as we the people have made stars out of social media presences, are we not a little more inclined to wonder what kind of money the "meteoric" makes?

Seventeen Magazine seems to be:

This is crazy to me because as the question of net worth seems to be a mature one, is Seveneteen's youthful base becoming more economically savvy or cynical? The average millennial might balk at the success of TikTok stars and even further scoff at these figures, but is Gen Z doing the same thing?

Sorry, that take is uber slanted and Seventeen may just be rote reporting. And perhaps the interest in its readers is purely aspirational.

But

The question of "aspirational" is next, cuties ;)

*Don't worry, I'll have a post on flex culture as it is ownership and how we as the users of social media may feel like we "own" these stars...a lot to talk about with ownership. The onus is on me to explain.. :))
