Space Talk from Scientists
On this ep of ASAP SCIENCE'S Sidenote, ' we ' (sincerely this is where I get my science news, and sincerely you feel like you're in on the conversation, so yes it's a ' we ' discussion) discuss the James Webb Telescope, black holes and the speed of light.
Okay so exciting for me to learn: what a black hole is. When the escape velocity is greater than the speed of light? Black hole, baby. Or so I understand it...
What is the escape velocity? (Plug the pod, listen to the pod, yada yada) but anyway the escape velocity is the energy needed to escape the gravitational pull of a planet!!!! If you need to go faster than the speed of light (impossible), boom baby it's a black hole.
And did you KNOW...there's a black hole in the middle of our galaxy...?
Who tried to get out of the box, baby? Baby tryna get to the cookie jar and got SUCKED into a black hole...? Hmmm...
Hahaha sorry science is SEXY and space is COMING for my ass.
I'm 23 by the way feeling like an old FART being scared of space and us going en masse, but anyway it sounds like we're far away from that...
OH another thing they mentioned, which I love, is that 100 years from now everyone's gonna look at us (we say this politically, but think about this perspective) and think we were scientifically wrong. Like dumb. Like, " aw they just didn't know..."
THINK ABOUT THAT. THINK ABOUT IT. AND WHAT ARE WE GONNA BE RIGHT ABOUT. EINSTEIN IS STILL RIGHT ABOUT SOME THINGS, OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD THE
SCIENCE
OF
IT
ALL.
Hallelujah.
So Sexy.
Amen and good morning, hoes.
